advocacy

I was a co-founder of Women in Technology Network of Arizona Alumni (WITNAA), a community of women that met virtually through the pandemic. The vision of the organization was to be a prominent group for diverse members of the technology community, especially early in career professionals and those transitioning into a technology career.

I was inspired to create this organization after seeing prominent results through revamping the Women in Info & Computer Science organization at the University of Arizona. Whereas the percentage for women in computer science is very low (with only 18% of computer science degrees in the United States being earned by women), women are also statistically more inclined to leave the field early in career.
